College plus Community is a publication put out quarterly by Mt. Hood Community College. The publication was the primary method of communicating with the district but became too expensive with rising printing and mailing costs. My solution was to create a more focused and professional-looking digital magazine, reducing printing to a postcard announcing each new edition. This cut marketing costs significantly, and the first edition of the digital magazine was awarded a gold medallion from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations in 2023. In 2024 the magazine swept the NCMPR e-publications category with issues winning the gold, silver, and bronze medallion awards.
